Makes use of the ocean thermal rise between cooler deep part of the ocean and warmer shallow surface seawaters or oceans to power heat engines ( usual a turbine) which produces useful work, which is usually in the form of electricity. ocean thermal energy conversion ( OTE ) has the properties to operate at a very high capacity factor which is same as it ability to operate at a lower base mode too.
