The manager of an Electronics Store gets an email from the

manufacturer of Flat Screen TVs that says 8% of the TVs
they sent them are defective and will need to be returned.
The manager counts his inventory and sees that he has 71 of
the TV's in his store. He estimates that he will have to return
about 14 of them. Is his estimate accurate?

Answer:

No

Explanation:

Change the percentage into a decimal by dividing it by 100

8/100 = 0.08

Then multiply it by the amount of TVs he has

71(0.08) = 5.68

5.68 is significantly less than 14, so his estimate is inaccurate.
