Answer:

20

Explanation:

Given that: $3.25 in dimes and nickels were distributed among 45 boys.

1 nickel = $0.05

1 dime = $0.10

Let number of coins of dimes be x and the number of coins of nickel be 45-x.

Hence,

0.10x + 0.05(45-x)=3.25

0.10x+2.25-0.05x=3.25

0.05x=3.25-2.25

0.05x=1

x= 1/0.05

x=20

45-x

45-20=25
