D because c is obviously wrong.A there was nothing said about slaves.B his religious beliefs are about helping the country and freeing the slaves.He also believes in God.But it talks about people losing their family.Which means there was a war not to long ago.

Abraham Lincoln had a civil war against the North and the South in America.Becausethe South did not want to ban slavery and did not want Abe as President of the United States. Hope this helpful.
