Below is a image to better explain and to visualize whats happening.

So as shown in image 1 43 is congruent to angel Y therefore y=43

all angles should add up to 360 degrees meaning

y+x+z+43=360

and all side angle pairs should add up to 180 degrees meaning

Y+x=180

or

43+z=180

or even backwards which ever two you choose

Y+z=180

43+x=180

to find our missing number i'm going to use 43 and x (really doesn't matter which one you choose x or z)

43+x=180

Islate the variable

subtract 43 from both sides

x=180-43

x=137

so angle x is 137

since angle x is congruent to z then

z=137 as well.

and to check our work

we need to make sure all angles add up to 360

137+137+43+43=360
