How do you remember how to add and subtract negative and positive integers ?

ex. -5-(-7)=
4+(-7)=
Also I don't need any answer to the expressions.

Answer:

say you have "-5-(-7)". Two negatives create a positive so instead of subtracting, in reality you're adding. whenever you see a "-(-" I tend to automatically know to convert my expression to "-5+7" since -(- looks similar to a + sign.

now say you have "4+(-7)". In reality, you're subtracting. Whenever I see a "+(-" or a "-(+" I am now aware that I'm taking away.
