So what is the Pythagorean Theorem:

⇒ it states the sum of both leg's lengths squared is equal to

⇒ hypotenuse's length squared

(look at the image attached for a better explanation)

To find out
b^2, let's look to the Pythagorean equation to see what we are missing:

a^2 + b^2 = c^2\\(10^2) + b^2 = 325\\b^2 = 325 - 10^2\\b^2 = 325 - 100 = 225\\b^2 = 225

  • a = 10 ⇒
    a^2 = 100

  • c^2 = 325

So b^2 = 225Choice B

Hope that helps!
