Explanation:

the equation for the volume of a cylinder is V=

the problem gives you the diamater which is 4 inches, the radius will simply be the diamater divided in half resulting in the radius being 2 inches.

So now you plug in the raidus (2 inches) to the equation of the volume of the cylinder and the problem already gave you the volume of the cylinder which is 12
\pi so you plug that in as well

simplify to get the height (the pies cancel out and you divide 12 by 4 because 2^2 is 4)
