Bongani and Jane are friends. Bongani takes Jane's maths test paper and will not tell her what her number of points is. He knows that Jane dislikes word problems so he decides to tease her. Bongani says: "I have 2 points more than you do and the sum of both our points is equal to 14. What is the total of our points

Answer:

Jane has 6 points, and B has 8 points.

Explanation:

If both of them in total have 14 points, and B has 2 more points than Jane, this means that:

B+2=14

So to find their individual number of points, you need to take 2 away from 14

14-2=12

Since these are being divided to two people, you have to divide 12 too

12/2 = 6

6 is Jane's number of points. And now to find B just add 2 points to it which is 8.

Jane=6 Bondani=8

6+8=14
