Does doubling the height of a cylinder have the same effect on the volume of a cylinder as doubling the radius?

V = \pi r^2h

If we double the radius, we get 4x the amount of volume as before.


V = \pi (2r)^2h = 4 \pi r^2h

however if we just double the height, we just get twice the volume.


V = 2 \pi r^2 h
