Thus, the only way to motivate the players is by instilling the spirit to win, making them want to succeed, making them passionate about the sport, and instilling in them the desire to be the best in their field.

It all really depends on the person. If the person loves doing work and doesn’t care about money then it’s the same as having a paid employee. But if it’s a paid employee who doesn’t care about the job it’s about the same as having a volunteer.
