The political cartoon depicts a German soldier changing the word reparations in to preparations. This was due to the fact that Germany was not satisfied with the treaty of Versailles. The treaty sparked movements and incidents that would eventually lead to WW2. The National Socialist party used the anger about the treaty and the great depression to gain power in 1933.
