Sharon has at most $25 to spend on her sister's birthday gift. She already bought a knitting machine for her, which cost $14.99. 25 - 14.99 = 10.01

10.01 divided by 2.75 = 3.64.

Sharon can get 3 skeins of yarn for her sister.

Since after the knitting machine, she is only
left with approximately $10 that leaves her able to get 3 skeins of yard with change left over. Since 3 skeins would cost 8.25, that would only leave Sharon with $1.75. Which would not be enough to buy another skein
