Using the pythagorean theorem, we can calculate the base of the right triangle to be 6 (1 triangle)

-> The triangle's base length is 12.

So, the square's length is also 12.

We can now calculate the area of the figure : 12 x 12 + 12 x 8 : 2 = 192 in2

Answer:

13:192 in2

Explanation

with the pythagoras theorem you can find the base =6

base x height /2= area =24

two triangles=24.2 =48

square one side =12

area=12.12=144

area of the shape = 144+48=192
