Answer:The box had 60 cookies.

Mark consumed 1/5 or (1/5)*60 = 12 cookies.

There are 60 -12 = 48 cookies left.

Patricia ate another 2/3 of the cookies left or: (2/3)*48 = 32 cookies.

What is left is 48 - 32 = 16 cookies.
