Answer:

Yes, I do think Odysseus is a thinking man's hero because his story shows moral values that depict courage, valor, honesty, integrity etc. He spends ten years to reach his family despite all the enemies he had to face. This masterpiece was written by Homer.

His wife Penelope and son Telemachus also play an important role as they help restore his throne, until he reaches home safely.

But he at the end of his journey, he meets a tragic death. He gets killed by his son who did not know he was slaying his own father in battle.
