What is the solution to this equation?

3x +17 + 5x = 7x + 10

A. 27/15 (fraction)
B. x= -7
C. x= -7/15 (fraction)
D. x=27

I put fraction at A and C cause thats the only way I can write the answer as a "fraction." In case those are confused.

Answer:
x=-7

Simplify both sides of the equation

(3x+5x)+(17)=7x+10 (Combine Like Terms)

8x+17=7x+10

Subtract 7x from both sides

8x+17-7x=7x+10-7x\\x+17=10

Subtract 17 from both sides

x+17-17=10-17\\x=-7
