The volume of a cylinder is equal to
(1)/(3)\pi r^(2) h, where r is the radius of the cylinder and h is its height.

324 =
(1)/(3)\pi r^(2) h

324 =
(1)/(3) x 3.14 x
r^(2) x 1

309.55 =
r^(2)

r =
√(309.55)

r = approx. 17.59 inches
