How many solutions does this linear system have?

y = 2x-5
_8x – 4y = -20
O one solution: (-2.5, 0)
O one solution: (2.5, 0)
O no solution
o infinite number of solutions

2.5,0 is the correct answer because when you do 2(2.5) you get 5 then you subtract 5 then you get 0 which makes the solution true

Answer: (2.5,0)
So you substitute (replace) the y value with what y equals
In this case, y=2x-5
So you replace that with the y in the equation. Therefore creating a method called the distributive property!
Where you distribute (multiply) the number outside of the parentheses to all the numbers inside the parentheses. Leaving you with the next method! Which is combine like terms. Take all the numbers with the x values and add them and do the same thing to the regular whole numbers without values. Leaving you with an x valued number on one side of the equal sign and a regular whole number on the other side. Since you can’t combine these two numbers you divide them to each other.
Leaving you with your solution
In this case your solution is (2.5,0)!!
