Answer:

One cause of the Civil War was the economic and social differences between the North and South. The South focused on slave and plantation life, while the North focused on city and industrial life. Another cause was the states versus federal rights. The South wanted more state control and the North wanted more federal control. The fight between slave and non-slave state supporters. Answer:

One cause of the Civil war was slavery. The biggest issue for the South was slavery. The South relied on slavery for labor and work. People in the North thought that slavery was very wrong and bad. The people that thought it was bad were called abolitionists. The abolitionists wanted slavery to be illegal in the United states. Another cause of the civil war was expansion. The United States continued to expand weest and as they did each new state added to the country and shifted the power between the North and the South. The Southern states started to worry that they would lose all of their rights. So, each new state that was added became a battleground. The third cause of the war is states rights. since the Constitution was written there had been arguments about how much power states should have versus how much power the federal government should have. Southern states thought that federal government was taking away their rights and powers.
