Answer:

288 miles.

Explanation:

Given:

His train has been running for 2 1/2 days.

We have to convert it into hours.

As we know:

1 day = 24 hours

2(1)/(2) = (5)/(2)\ days=
(5)/(2) *24=(120)/(2) =60\ hours

Speed of train = 4.8 miles per hour

Distance traveled by train = ?

Solution:

As we know:

Distance=Speed* Time

=4.8*60=288\ miles

Therefore, the train will travel 288 miles.
