I am climbing up a mountain that has a lake at the bottom. The lake is 100 feet deep. If I have climbed one third of the way up the mountain and I am currently at 220 feet above lake level, what is the elevation change from the bottom of the lake to the top of the mountain?

Answer: 760 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

So, 220 feet is 1/3 of the mountain.

Now, multiply 220 x 3 = 660.

The top of the mountain is 660 feet.

The bottom of the lake is -100 feet.

Now just simply add 100 + 660 = 760

So, the total elevation change is 760 feet.
