Tickets to a play are priced as follows:

Adult tickets: £12
Child tickets: £6
Cheryl rings the booking office to buy 6 adult tickets and 3 child tickets.
She is told that a 10% booking fee will be added to the ticket price. 2% then will be added if she is paying by credit card.
Work out the total charge that Cheryl will pay if she uses her credit card to buy the tickets.

£72 plus £18 equals £90 and 10% makes it £81.00 and with the 2% it’s £82.62

She has to pay £100.98.

Explanation:

Given,

The cost of adult ticket = £12

The cost of child ticket = £6

10% booking fee will be added.

2% will be added if she is paying by credit card.

Number of adult = 6

Number of child = 3

To find the cost of ticket if she uses her credit card.

Formula

If a% increases on b the value will be = b×
(100+a)/(100)

Total cost of the ticket = £12×6+£6×3 = £90

After 10% booking fee = £90×
(110)/(100) = £99

After paying by her credit card 2% = £99×
(102)/(100) = £100.98

Hence,

She has to pay £100.98.
