What is the first step in solving the quadratic equation x2 – 40 = 0?

This one is pretty easy! What you’d do first is multiply both sides of the equation by 40 :) hope this helps

The first step would be to add 40 to both sides of the equation, you can use multiple methods to solve from there, but I recommend 'completing the square' since your b value is equal to zero :)
