Answer: $1561.41

Explanation:

5.5% increase in hourly wages

= 5.5% x $18.50 / 100%

= $1.0175.

= $1.0175 + $18.50

= $19.5175.

Gross pay on semi monthly paycheck ( this is usually the salary received by an employee before any deductions or tax.)

= 40hrs/week x 2weeks ( semi monthly usually paid on the 15th of each month).

= 80hrs

= 80hrs x $19.5175

= $1561.41

Therefore: Williams semi monthly paycheck is $1561.41

Answer:

$1561.60

Explanation:

William's Previous Hourly Income=$18.50

If he received a 5.5% increase, his new income per hour will be:

$18.50+(5.5% of 18.50)

=18.50+(0.055 X 18.50)

=$18.50+ 1.02=$19.52

There are 4 weeks in a month.

In a week, he works 40 Hours

In 2 Weeks(Semi-Monthly), he works (2 X 40) Hours =80 Hours

Gross Pay on his semi-monthly paycheck

= 80 X $19.52

=$1561.60
