after transformations the new function is :
|x+2|-3

Explanation:

Here we have to apply the changes below to the absolute value parent function, f(x) = | X l, And find out which of these is the equation of the new function. Let's find out:

Initially we had function
f(x) = |x| . We have following changes as :

• Shift 2 units to the left.

According to above statement , Function is shifted 2 units left that means 2 units towards - x-axis ! i.e.

f(x+2) = |x+2|

• Shift 3 units down.

According to above statement , Function is shifted 3 units down that means 3 units towards -y-axis ! i.e.

f(x+2)-3 = |x+2|-3

Therefore , after transformations the new function is :
|x+2|-3 .
