Answer:

a = 0.4 and b=1.6

Explanation:

Both expressions are simply divided

(2x + 8y = 60) ÷ (ax + by = 12)

60÷12 = 5, Hence coefficient of x and y in the bigger equation is divided by 5 to find a and b

2/5 = 0.4 = a

8/5= 1.6 = b
