To find the circumference you do pi x diameter. Since diameter is 2xradius the diameter is 2x8=16

So 3.14x16 = 50.265
As that would be the whole circle you divide that by 4 and times by 3 = 37.699

Then just do 8 + 8 + 37.699 = 53.699

Answer: the exact perimeter of the figure is 53.68 cm

Explanation:

The angle formed by the shaded sector is

360 - 90 = 270 degrees

We would determine the length of the arc formed by the shaded portion by applying the formula for length of arc which is expressed as

Length of arc = θ/360 × 2πr

Where

θ represents the central angle.

r represents the radius of the circle.

π is a constant whose value is 3.14

From the information given,

Radius, r = 8 cm

θ = 270 degrees

Length of arc = 270/360 × 2 × 3.14 × 8

= 37.68 cm

Perimeter of the figure is

Length of arc + radius + radius

It becomes

37.68 + 8 + 8 = 53.68 cm
