since the triangles are similar then the ratios of corresponding sides are in proportion , that is


(AC)/(PR) =
(BC)/(QR) ( substitute values )


(36)/(PR) =
(48)/(8) = 6 ( multiply both sides by PR )

6 PR = 36 ( divide both sides by 6 )

PR = 6
