Answer:

y = 9/-2x - 27

Explanation:

The equation of the line is

y = mx + c

Step 1 : find the slope

Given two points

( 8 , -4) ( 6 ,5)

m = y2 - y1 / x2 - x1

x1 = 8

y1 = -4

x2 = 6

y2 = 5

m = 5 - (-4) / 6 - 8

m = 5 + 4 / 6 - 8

m = 9 / -2

= 9/-2

y = mx + c

y = 9/-2x + c.

Step 2 : substitute any of the two points given into the equation

let's pick ( 6 ,5)

x - 6

y - 5

y = 9/-2x + c

5 = 9/-2(6) + c

5 = 9* 6 / -2 + c

5 = 54/-2+ c

c = -27

y = 9/-2x - 27

The equation of the line is

y = 9/-2x - 27
