Explanation:

We have the formula to calculate the area of a trapezoid as following:

Area of a trapezoid = 1/2 x (Base side 1 + Base side 2) x Height

The two base sides of a trapezoid is parallel.

In the trapezoid ABCD, vector AB and vector DC have the same direction

=> AB and DC are parallel and they are two base sides of the trapezoid.

As BH is perpendicular to DC

=> BH is the height of the trapezoid and BH = 6cm

So that the are of the trapezoid is:

Area of ABCD = 1/2 x (AB + DC) x BH = 1/2 x (4+6) x 6 =30 cm2
