Solution:

If two chords intersect each other inside a circle, the products of length their segments are equal.

`\Rightarrow a \cdot b =c \cdot d`

`\Rightarrow 11 \cdot 8 =2 \cdot x`

`\Rightarrow 88 =2x`

Divide by 2 on both sides.

`$\Rightarrow(88)/(2) =(2x)/(2)`

`$\Rightarrow 44 =x`

Switch the sides.

`$\Rightarrow x=44`

The value of x is 44.
