Explanation:

Given :-

  • The length of rectangular garden is 15 feet longer than its width
  • The area of rectangular garden is 700ft²

To find:-

  • Dimensions of rectangular garden

Solution:-

According to the question , let the length of rectangular garden be x and width be x + 15

We know , the formula for area of rectangular garden is L × B

putting the known values ,

700ft.² = X × (X + 15)

700 ft. ² = x² + 15x

x² + 15 x - 700 = 0

By factorising it we get , x = 20

So , the dimensions of rectangular garden are 20 feet and 35 feet respectively for length and width.
