The Harrison’s decide to give their children a weekly allowance that is directly proportional to each child’s age. Their 6-year-old daughter receives an allowance of $5.50. What is their 9-year-old son’s allowance?

$8.25
We can use a proportion.
6/5.5=9/x
Cross multiply: 6x=9(5.5)
6x=49.5
X=$8.25
