answer: Physiological changes occur with aging in all organ systems. The cardiac output decreases, blood pressure increases and arteriosclerosis develops.

What are some of the factors that may cause an older adult to become malnourished?

Malnutrition is often due to one or more of the following factors: inadequate food intake; food choices that lead to dietary deficiencies; and illness that causes increased nutrient requirements, increased nutrient loss, poor nutrient absorption, or a combination of these factors.

What are at least 3 key nutrients that older adults should focus on to promote health?

Calcium and Vitamin D, Vitamin B12 and fiber

Which nutrients are needed in the greatest amounts during pregnancy? Why are they so important?

Calcium. Helps to build strong bones and teeth

Iron. Helps red blood cells deliver oxygen to your baby
