x = -7 and y = 5

Explanation:

y = 3x + 19 equation(i)

y = 5x + 33

substitute the value of y

3x + 19 = 5x + 33

3x - 5x = 33 - 19

-2x = 14

x = 14/-2

x = -7

now substitute the value of x in equation (i)

y = 3x + 19

y = 3*-7 + 19

y = -14 + 19

y = 5
