a) P = F.v

P = 60.0 W

F = ?

v = 1.40 m/s

60 = F (1.4)

F = (60/1.4)

F = 42.9 N

b) If power doubles, P = 120.0 W and F stays the same, F = 42.9 N

P = F.v

v = (P/F)

v = (120/42.9)

v = 2.80 m/s.

The speed doubles.
