'Twice a number n', means that 'n' is shown twice, So this would mean 'Twice a number n' = 2n.

It then says, 'decreased by six is fourteen'. Decreased also means subtracted so it means' - 6 = 14 '.

With all of this, we can come up with an answer of 2n - 6 = 14
