The body uses minerals to perform certain processes like building string bones and transmitting nerve impulses,and just like vitamins,minerals help the body to grow, develop and stay healthy.

Examples of major minerals and what they do to the body are as follows;

SODIUM AND POTASSIUM; It is needed for proper fluid balance, nerve transmission, and muscle contraction,sources of sodium are table salt,milk,breads,vegetables,whole grains,legumes etc

CHLORIDE; It is needed for proper fluid balance in the body and stomach acid,sources of chloride are table salt,vegetables etc

CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM; Important for healthy bones and teeth,helps muscles relax and contract,important in nerve functioning, blood clotting, blood pressure regulation and immune system health.sources of calcium are milk and milk products,fish,bones, nuts and seeds,legumes, vegetables etc
