Explanation:

Area of the original rectangle=7×9 m²

=63m²

Let triangle removed be named as ∆ABC right angle at B, AB=(9-6)m = 3m

BC=(7-2)m =5m

area of ∆ABC= 1/2 ×3×5=7.5m²

area of the shaded region = (63-7.5)m²

= 55.5m²
