Write an algebraic expression in simplest form for the perimeter of a rectangle with side lengths (-3x + 1) and(2x - 5). Remember Perimeter = the sum of all sides. Rectangle has four sides.

Answer:

Perimeter of a rectangle = 2W + 2L (where W is the width and L is the length)

Given:

  • width = (-3x + 1)
  • length = (2x - 5)

⇒ perimeter = 2(-3x + 1) + 2(2x - 5)

= -6x + 2 + 4x - 10

= -2x - 8
