Opponent process theory.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the opponent process theory, our eyes have three color receptors. Each of the three receptor is responsible for perception of two colors: one for white and black, other one for Red and green , the third one for yellow and blue.

We never perceive the paired colors together, and whenever the stimulus for one of the color in the pair is removed we can see the other color of the pair.

If we see the case of Devin as soon as he placed her eyes on the blank computer screen she perceived exactly the opposite color that were present on the magazine. So the afterimage is best explained by opponent process theory.
