The velocity and pressure of a fluid is related as follows:

The speed is also called as velocity. Bernoulli’s Principle states that, higher the velocity of a fluid (means liquid or gas), the lower the pressure it exerts. The rapid motion of the fluid molecules causes the Fluid pressure. The Bernoulli equation is given as,

P+(1)/(2) \rho v^(2)+\rho g h=\text { constant }

Where,

P – Pressure

ρ –density

v – Velocity

g – Gravitational acceleration

h - Elevation

So, when the fluid moves faster, some energy from the rapid motion of the fluid is used to move faster in the fluid’s direction of motion which results in a low pressure. Thus, the more the speed of a fluid, the lesser is the pressure (
P \propto (1)/(v)).
