4x+4y=58.............(i)

Six thin crust pizzas and three deep dish pizzas cost $63

We solve equations (i) and (ii) simultaneously

4x+4y=58.............(i)

6x+3y=63.............(ii)

To make the coefficeint of y the same, multiply (i) by 3 and (ii) by 4

[4x+4y=58] X 3

12x+12y=174

[6x+3y=63] X 4

24x+12y=252

Eliminating y by subtracting (iv) from (iii)

12x+12y=174............(iii)

24x+12y=252............(iv)

-12x=-78

x=6.5

Substitute x=6.5 into any of the equations, say (iv)

(24X6.5)+12y=252

156+12y=252

12y=252-156=96

y=96/12=8

x=6.5, y=8
