13. The four walls and the bottom of a swimming pool are to be cemented at the rate ₹550 per m².

If the length of the pool is 15m, breadth is 10m and the depth is 5m.
i) Find the total cost of painting
ii) What is the capacity of the swimming pool?

here the answer are as follows

i) the cost of painting is Rs 137500

ii) the capacity of the swimming pool is 750 cube meter

Explanation:

i) to find out the area of four wall of a swimming that means we have to find out the lateral surface area

lateral surface area = perimeter X height ( here depth and height are same)

= 2X(L+B)XH

here, L = length B = Breadth and H = height

= 2X(15+10)X5 sq m

=10X25 sq m

= 250 sq m

the total cost of painting = (Rs 550 X 250)

= Rs 137500

ii) now to find out the capacity of the swimming pool we need to find out the volume

since its a cuboid the volume will be L X B X H

= 15 X 10 X5 cube m

=750 cube m
