Answer: This school of philosophy was inspired by EPICURUS

Explanation: Epicurus was in 341BC, he studies philosophy by proposing the philosophy of personal ethics instead of metaphysics, he believes the the universe has logical and behaves in a predictable manner. He never believed knowledge can be found through mythology and religion.

He never believed the gods have influence on human lives and the out come of our characters, that is why he said "it is folly for a man to pray to the gods for that which he has the power to attain by himself". He believes that one should live a life of free will instead of depending our actions on the gods.

One of the outstanding statement of epicurus is “It is impossible to live a pleasant life without living wisely, honorably, and justly, and it is impossible to live wisely, honorably and justly without living pleasantly.”
