At a point on the ground 50 feet from the foot of a tree, the angle of elevation to the top of the tree is 58 degrees. Find the height of the tree.

Explanation:

Given:-

  • Distance of point from tree's foot:- 50 feet
  • Angle of elevation:- 58 degrees

To find :-

  • Height of tree

Solution:-

In the given figure we can see that AB is perpendicular , BC is base and AC is hypotenuse.

We know ,

tan 58° = AB/BC

1.6 = AB/50 feet

(Cross Multiplication)

80 feet :- AB
