(opposite)² = (hypotenuse)² - (adjacent)²

(adjacent)² = (hypotenuse)² - (opposite)²

1) x² = 9² + 7² = 81 + 49 = 130

x = 11.4 cm

2) x² = 6² + 4² = 36 + 16 = 52

x = 7.2

3) x² = 4.3² + 7.7² = 18.49 + 59.29 = 77.78

x = 8.8 cm

Down row

1) x² = 7² - 3² = 49 -9 = 40

x = 6.3 cm

2) x² = 6.4² - 2.9² = 40.96 + 8.41 = 49.37

x= 7.02 cm

3) x² = 7.2² - 5.3² = 51.84 - 28.09 = 23.75

x = 4.9 cm
