Answer: He have traveled 9.2 miles towards the north.

Explanation:

Since we have given that

Distance between mason from home = 11 miles

Distance he traveled due west = 6 miles

We need to find the distance he traveled due north .

since it forms right angled triangle.

So, by applying "Pythagorus theorem", we get that

H^2=B^2+P^2\\\\11^2=6^2+P^2\\\\121=36+P^2\\\\121-36=P^2\\\\85=P^2\\\\√(85)=P\\\\P=9.2\ miles

Hence, he have traveled 9.2 miles towards the north.
