Ray had a percent error of 25%.

Explanation:

Step 1; Ray expected to get 16 points in his game. This will be taken as the expected value but he only got 12 points. These 12 points will be taken as the actual value.

Expected value = 16, Actual value = 12.

Step 2; The difference needs to be found if we are to find the error percentage. The difference is given by subtracting the actual value from the expected value because the actual value is lower in value.

Difference in values= Expected value - Actual value= 16 - 12 = 4

Step 3; Now we find how much this difference is in terms of the expected value. By doing this and multiplying it by a 100, it is converted into a percentage error.

Percentage error = difference in values / expected value= 4 / 16 * 100 =

0.25 * 100 = 25%.
